Exhibiting Artist members of The Art League may submit up to three works to digital entry shows; only one may be accepted. The entry fee is $7 per work. For most monthly juried shows, approximately 30% of submissions will be accepted.

If you have an All-Inclusive Exhibiting Artist Membership*, make sure you enter the call for each exhibit labeled "All-Inclusive."

October 2026 Open Exhibit  

Artists may enter works made within the past five years. Open exhibits are not limited by theme, medium, process, or content.

 Awards: The Art League Award for Best in Show League credit for $1000 useable in the store, gallery, or school.  

Guidelines:  Artist must be a current exhibiting artist member of The Art League gallery. All works must adhere to the Gallery hanging and framing requirements. For 2D artworks, no clip frames are permitted and hanging wire must be attached to the frame, not the backing. 2D artworks must have hanging wire. No saw tooth hangers permitted. Canvases may be gallery wrapped with no visible staples. If the work weighs over 40lbs, the artist must install the piece themselves, if accepted. Artists are free to enter any current work made within 5 years. All artworks must be for sale, gallery retains a 40% commission. Artists exhibit at their own risk. Works are chosen by the selected juror’s curatorial vision and aesthetic.

Art on the Rocks Special Exhibit

 As the official kickoff to Old Town Cocktail week, Art on the Rocks 2026 challenges local mixologists and chefs to each create the most artistic cocktail & appetizer pairing, inspired by a piece of art by a local Art League artist. This year, the event will be held at the beautiful Alexandrian Hotel. 

Art on the Rocks  is a festive fundraiser that help support the local arts community while spotlighting our fabulous local bar restaurants right here in Alexandria. Accepted artworks will be paired with a participating restaurant to inspire their cocktail & appetizer creation. Artists of the accepted artworks will receive a complimentary event ticket for themselves and one guest.

Guidelines/restrictions: 

 Artists may enter one piece for consideration. Please do not submit multiple entries.  

  • Artist must be a current exhibiting artist member of The Art League gallery.
  • Artwork must be available for display at Art on the Rocks, on October 8, 2026
  • All works must adhere to the Gallery hanging and framing requirements. For 2D artworks, no clip frames are permitted and hanging wire must be attached to the frame, not the backing. 2D artworks must have hanging wire. No saw tooth hangers permitted. Canvases may be gallery wrapped with no visible staples.
  • If the work weighs over 30lbs, the artist must install the piece themselves, if accepted.
  • Artists may enter any current work made within 3 years. 
  • Artwork must be available for sale, and the Art League retains a 40% commission. 
  • Works cannot have been accepted into any Art League juried exhibit before.

Little Winter is an annual exhibit of miniature work, perfect for the holiday season! Maximum size for artworks is 5 x 7 inches framed, and the maximum price is $150. Artists may enter works made within the past five years.
